I know that I've stated that I don't particularly love Elizabeth Zimmerman patterns. Mainly because I prefer patterns that spell things out a bit more and don't assume that you are already an accomplished knitter. But I finally got around to completing one of her patterns, one that a billion other people have already made, the February Sweater:
I couldn't decide how I wanted to present it, so here's another pic:
The best detail of this sweater is the buttons. You have no idea how difficult it was to photograph one of these clearly enough to show the detail:
That's right, a fishbowl with a goldfish and tiny little bubbles. I adore these buttons. They're by JHB and I got them at JoAnn's. Cute huh?
Details:
Yarn: Cotton Ease in Terracotta. Used just over 1 skein.

Pattern: February Sweater by Elizabeth Zimmerman
Those are the cutest buttons!! What a great find! You did an awesome job with the sweater..it's so pretty. I've thought about attempting it myself but it looks a little difficult. What did you think of the pattern as far as difficulty?
ReplyDeleteHugs!
What size needles did you use with the cotton-ease for that sweater?
ReplyDeleteI have those same buttons, but I have yet to knit anything that deserves them.
lil knitter - I'd say it's a medium difficulty sweater. Like I said, I don't really care too much for EZ patterns. They're utterly brilliant, but assume that you know what you're doing already.
ReplyDeleteJackie - oops. I forgot to mention needle size didn't I? Sorry bout that. I used size 6 needles.
oh my gosh, those buttons!!! very cute sweater!
ReplyDeleteThe buttons are beautiful, and the sweater looks amazing! Now I have to make one of those for my daughter. :)
